Proven Genetics for Grass‑Fed Colombian Systems

The LIC International team is proud to bring our very best genetic offerings to Colombian dairy farmers.

About us

LIC International, based at our New Zealand headquarters, works alongside trusted global partners such as Colanta, Colombia’s largest dairy cooperative, to connect Colombian dairy farmers with the best of New Zealand’s pasture‑based genetics. Through this partnership, LIC genetics are made accessible to cooperative members seeking proven solutions that support productivity and profitability in grass‑fed systems.

In addition to widespread cooperative use, LIC genetics are also used exclusively on Miraka, a pasture‑based dairy farm in Colombia focused on performance, efficiency, and grazing‑system outcomes. This reflects the strong alignment between New Zealand pasture‑based genetics and Colombian dairy systems where grass utilisation plays a central role.

Colombia’s dairy industry is shaped by pasture‑based production, cooperative strength, and a growing focus on efficiency and herd improvement. Across key dairy regions, grazing remains central to milk production, making fertility, robustness, and effective feed conversion essential traits for long‑term success.

Developed in environments where pasture performance, fertility, and resilience are critical, LIC genetics support Colombian dairy farmers to build productive, adaptable herds that thrive in grass‑based systems and contribute to a more sustainable dairy future.
