LIC in Switzerland

Genetics That Match Switzerland’s Focus on Quality and Efficiency.

The LIC Europe team is proud to bring our very best genetic offerings to Swiss dairy farmers.

About us

LIC Europe, based in the United Kingdom, works closely with European partners such as Swissgenetics, alongside our New Zealand headquarters, to connect Swiss dairy farmers with the best of New Zealand’s pasture‑based genetics. Together, we deliver genetics proven to perform, drive profit, and thrive in grass‑focused production systems.

Switzerland and New Zealand share strong common ground in dairy farming. Both countries rely heavily on pasture and grass-based feeding systems, supported by temperate climates and reliable rainfall that enable cows to convert home‑grown forage into high‑quality milk efficiently. Grassland forms the backbone of dairy production in both regions, with a strong emphasis on fertility, efficiency, animal health, and sustainability rather than maximum output alone. Seasonal and low‑input systems, rising consumer expectations around welfare and the environment, and a focus on premium, value‑added dairy products for export further align Swiss and New Zealand dairying.

These shared farming principles create an ideal environment for New Zealand genetics to succeed. LIC genetics are developed in pasture-based systems and selected for efficiency, fertility, and longevity – traits that support profitable, resilient herds under Swiss grass‑focused conditions.
