Genimex Showcases LIC Genetics at the 2026 SA Large Herds Conference

Genimex, LIC's distributor of dairy genetics in South Africa, recently attended the 2026 SA Large Herds Conference in KwaZulu-Natal as a sponsor, joining more than 450 delegates from across the region.

Having supported the conference since its inception in 1999, Genimex was proud to once again connect with progressive dairy farmers and industry partners. Representing the company at the event, Chris Cloete, Manager, and Britt Stanton, Advisor, shared insights into LIC’s world-leading pasture-based breeding philosophy.

As South African dairy farmers continue to seek cows that are productive, fertile, and efficient in pasture-based systems, LIC’s breeding approach is highly relevant. Developed for New Zealand’s grass-based dairy systems, LIC’s genetics are well suited to helping South African farmers achieve greater productivity and profitability.

Throughout the conference, attendees had the opportunity to discuss breeding strategies and learn more about Genimex’s genetics offering, which provides access to LIC New Zealand’s proven breeding programme and leading genetic technology.

The event also marked a significant milestone for Genimex this year, as the company celebrates 30 years in business. Since its establishment in 1996, Genimex has grown from humble beginnings into one of South Africa’s leading suppliers of livestock genetics.

“At Genimex, the success of our clients remains at the heart of everything we do,” said Chris Cloete. “We are proud to bring LIC’s proven pasture-based genetics to South African farmers and look forward to continuing to support the industry’s future growth and success.”

The conference provided another valuable opportunity to share knowledge, strengthen relationships, and support the advancement of sustainable pasture-based dairy farming in South Africa.
